Recent trade shows for Fashion and Accessories at New York’s Javits center have showcased many ’60s fashions among other old favorites, Asian style jackets, large buttons, short cardigan sweaters, bold black and white vintage prints and lots of retro colors and geometric patterns– and that’s just what you’ll see at our store!

Inside Business, the News-Times‘ premiere business journal, highlighted many key aspects of Upscale Downtown in the article “Designer Fashions for Less.” One such point was our passion for and dedication to vintage fashion.

Upscale Downtown offers a variety of vintage merchandise from the 1920s to 1970s, including an entire collection owned by the wife of famous flamenco dancer Jose Greco. “Vintage isn’t just something old. It’s old but in good condition and representative of the times,” said Levitt, noting they donate vintage clothes to Westconn’s theater department. “A lot of vintage clothes are made in America and that’s important to people. You don’t find many things made in America now. If something can survive time to get to be vintage, it’s quality. If you buy a classic vintage suit from the 60s, it’s going to look goog anytime,” said Tritter. Some vintage items feature metal zippers and meticulous stitching. Vintage gowns seel for $35.00 to $100.00.
